Our Directors

Christian Betancor-Leon and Andreas Juen met in the fall of 2002 at teacher training in Los Angeles. It has been said that the training experience is life changing and directly following, the two friends set off to different corners of the world in new directions.

Christian opened Bikram Yoga Commercial Drive in the fall of 2003, bringing the knowledge home to share. The studio grew a loyal following in part due to Christian's style, honesty, and ability to make a roomful of people laugh.

Andreas went to teach at Bikram's Montmartre in Paris, leading classes in French dialogue and gaining further inspiration. Oui, c'est chaud ici.

The spirit of friendship remained strong. Andreas came to Vancouver answering Christian's call to teach here and co-run the studio.

All good things happen in good time and in the fall of 2008, Christian and Andreas formalized a partnership and began to transform the studio into the shared vision of BY Commercial Drive.
